Taking as its starting point that an improvement to an existing application is as valid as a new application Encore have been able to provide a seriously credible add-on which is a seamless extension to SmartList, a Microsoft Dynamics GP query tool.  It allows any user to take advantage of adding power to your existing SmartList application by utilising a quality and cost‐effective tool which will help you save time, effort and cost.

As a user you are now able to create advanced queries on demand for easier, faster access to the information stored in the Microsoft Dynamics GP system. This enables you to save time and eliminate the need to rely on a technical resource or learning how to use Crystal Reports for report development by using the already familiar SmartList interface to produce custom queries.
Further advances are the ability to quickly sum columns and insert totals in the query reducing the need to export results to Excel for simple calculations. The removal of the need to import any results means that there is no chance of data corruption or, even worse, false data being imbedded in your results.

Once you are confident with the workings of the new Advanced Smartlist, then it progresses the users to the point in which they are comfortable with being able to manipulate and massage data with the flexible grid control component to produce detailed custom lists and reports in a preferred format by sorting on multiple fields, filtering by field or column, grouping transactional data, adding sums and totals to groups and creating snapshots for side‐by‐side comparison and analysis. It is this manipulation of data, the ‘real world’ experience which is missing from the standard Smartlist, and is something which every manager when collating reports has the need to do, if only to show what if scenarios. This is by far the greatest advance that Encore have given the GP user and it is truly appreciated.

The seamless integration with Dynamics GP is moved forward into other Office features including Excel and so it is also possible to export data to Excel and automatically inherit the same look and feel of the Microsoft Excel worksheet features such as column headers, auto‐filtering, grouping and sub‐total functionality. Export data to other formats including PDF, Text, HTML, CSV, Tab Delimited, MHT, Rich Text, Graphic and XML.
